IOFARN - International Organisation for Amity and Reconciliation of Nations



the prestigious
 

 
This international award is a distinction and recognition for outstanding efforts contributing
to the peaceful rapprochement between peoples and nations, to develop harmonization
between cultures and the better live together in the human society.
 

The magnificent trophy is a silver sculpture on a wooden base,
symbolizing a dove carried by two hands, sign of reconciliation, harmony and peace.

from Sierre

The Amity and Reconciliation Award was in 2016 assigned to Mr. Olivier Salamin for his outstanding efforts to recognize people with disabilities, his relentless engagement in international youth and cultural projects  and the integration of migrants. The award was handed over to Mr. Olivier Salamin in Grasse, Alpes-Maritimes, France by the President of the IOFARN - International Organization for Amity and Reconciliation of Nations, H.E. Baron Kleiner of Grasse.
 


Après une formation de psychologue (Université de Fribourg), Olivier Salamin exerce durant 6 ans à la Fondation valaisanne en faveur des personnes handicapées mentales (FOVAHM) où il obtient en 2005 une spécialisation de psychothérapeute FSP. En 2006, il reprend la direction de l’Association valaisanne d’aide aux personnes handicapées mentales (ASA-Valais) où il exerce aujourd’hui encore la fonction de directeur. Président de Forum Handicap Valais de 2010 à 2013, il complète sa formation par un certificat en gestion d’entreprise. En 2013, il reprend également la direction de la revue Pages romandes et complète son activité professionnelle dès 2014 en occupant le poste de coordinateur régional pour l’intégration dans le Valais central.

Olivier Salamin débute ses mandats politiques en 2009 avec une élection au conseil général de Sierre, où il occupe la fonction de chef de groupe et au Grand Conseil en tant que député-suppléant. En 2013, il est élu au Conseil municipal de Sierre et prend la fonction de Vice-Président de la Ville où il gère le dicastère de la culture, des sports, de la jeunesse et de l’intégration. Elu en 2014 comme député au Grand Conseil, il est membre de la Commission santé, affaires sociales et intégration (SAI), ainsi que de la Commission cantonale pour les personnes en situation de handicap et de la Commission consultative pour l’intégration des personnes migrantes.

Olivier Salamin donne un rayonnement international à la Ville de Sierre. Dans le cadre du World Tour de la Flamme de l’Amitié, la Ville de Sierre développe son rayonnement international. Après avoir accueilli officiellement la Flamme de l’Amitié sur son parcours mondial en 2015, en tant que première Ville de Suisse, Sierre représenté par le Vice-Président Olivier Salamin, était en juillet 2016 présente sur l’étape relais de Ravenna à Cesenatico en Italie, Ville Jumelée de Sierre.
